Clay Tiles

Oooh, red clay! FUN!
This is the first project that I did in 3D design. I created one design and then transfered that design onto these four tiles, however on two, it is flipped so it is opposite. I then carved the tiles so that there are 4 levels of depth (you can't really tell here) The tiles with the opposite design got carved in the opposite way of the others. So things that are lowest on the first set, are the highest levels on the other set. --if you are confused it's okay, it's hard to explain--
I then had two sets of identical tiles (Top left & bottom right) and (Top right & bottom left)
So because the two sets are opposite, the fit together to make one big square like this! AND because the edges are all exactly alligned, they can be flipped and turned in any direction, and still fit in perfectly with the same side of it's opposite.
I think I am going to paint them all one color eventually, maybe do a black and white thing we shall see! Oh yeah, each tile is about 5inches square give or take a little bit, and 2 inches deep
