Em & Stuburt

This is the first piece that I have drawn because someone asked me to. Of course, I will do anything for my sister, so when she asked me to draw her favorite picture of herself and her boyfriend Stu, I was happy to ablige.

The drawing is done on yellow paper which was, to my surprise really hard to do. The yellow changed the hues of every single color I layed down. It took me a bit to get the hang of it. However, this made me want to try other colored papers, hence the drawing of Ruby.

It is an 11" x 11" square.

Ps. Stu, sorry that I gave Em the spotlight in this picture... no hard feelings!

Super Smile Self Portrait

This is a self portrait done in colored pencil. It is about 8"x11" (a little smaller though).
I chose to draw this picture of myself because, though my eyes, I feel that this is me.

The "essance of who I am" if you will.

Artist Trading Cards

So apparently artist trading cards are a pretty big deal all around the world. They are 3 1/2" x 2 1/2". The cards are made by artists and about anything that the artist wants them to be about. A variety of mediums are also used. I used collage for mine. These represent different things that we have been discussing in my Art Education for Elementary Class. They are about the different stages children go though in their artistic development. And also my personal ideas about elementary education. Let me know what you think! I am pretty pumped about them personally!!

Ruby

Our beautiful 1 year old golden retriever puppy posed for this drawing. I had an incredable time trying to get her to pose like this. She would have none of it. My mom had to help hold her down but she kept biting us. To this day i'm not sure how I got this photograh.
It is done on black paper in my favorite medium, colored pencil!! I started this at work one night and i think all together it took me about 17 hours to complete. This is my first attempt at anything this photo-realistic. It is about 1'1/2" x 1'.

Ryan At High Rock.

This is a portrait of my boyfriend Ryan Mulligan. He looked so peaceful and handsome as he looked over highrock so I decided I needed to draw him. I chose pen and ink but i'm not sure why... I was so afraid i would mess this up. The nose and lips were definitly the most scary part. But i am very happy with the results.
(ps. those spiffy glasses are mine)

Flute Variations

This pieces was originally supposed to be a tester sheet for a project we did later in my 2D design class. I took the bottom image and blew it up to about a 2 and 1/2 feet square using charcoal. I like my tester sheet better than the actually project however! Wierd how those things happen
